Teri Parker, piano

     Teri Parker has been playing the piano for 15 years and completed her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Toronto in Jazz Performance. Originally classically trained, Teri also earned her Grade 10 classical piano and Grade 5 theory with the Royal Conservatory of Music.
     Teri draws on her eight years of teaching experience to share her joy of music with others and enjoys the challenge of creating an individual program for each student. Her varied musical background allows her to provide solid guidance to students pursuing many genres such as jazz, classical, and rock.

     Teri’s teaching approach spells success for her students: she has led winning piano groups in competitions and many of her students have achieved high marks on their exams. Teri is also in demand as an examiner at the Niagara Conservatory and the Milton Academy of Music.
     As a performer, Teri is an accomplished pianist who plays in the Greater Toronto Area at different venues and for private functions. In 2011 she released her first c-d with the Parker-Abbott Piano Duo entitled "Gallery." Always striving to increase her abilities and knowledge, Teri is a passionate and hard-working individual.
 







Richard Piasetski, piano/drums/guitar

     Richard has always lived and breathed music. After ten years mastering the piano, Richard responded to the call of another percussive instrument – the drums. He first began drumming at fifteen, and has actively studied its role and application across various musical styles and traditions since.

    Richard completed his Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Toronto in Jazz Performance and has since been an active educator and performer in the Canadian jazz, folk, rock, and world music scenes. 

  Alongside teaching, Richard performs regularly with Canadian folk artist Dave Borins, PRAM trio (w/ Mark Godfrey and Jack Bodkin), Doon (w/ Brendan Cassidy, Tyson Kerr, and Keith Walton), among others. Always eager to expand his musical repertoire, he has recently taken up the cavaquinho, pandeiro, rebolo, and other Brazilian instruments since joining the Escola de Samba de Toronto in 2010.

   Richard has taught at the Ontario Conservatory of Music and the Long & McQuade Music Education Centre in Brampton, and has established his own teaching practice for piano, guitar, drums, and theory. Richard strives to offer a fun, interactive, and relaxed learning experience tailored to the individual needs and musical goals of each student.




  Harley Card, guitar/drums

Harley Card has been an active musician, instructor, and composer for over fifteen years. In 2006 Harley earned his Bachelor in Jazz Performance from the University of Toronto, and in 2003 he earned a diploma in Applied Music from Mohawk College. He has taught at Humber Community Music School, Bay View Glen Day School’s music program, and continues to run his own teaching practice, offering personalized instruction on both guitar and drums.
     Over the years Harley has enjoyed teaching all levels and ages of students, specializing in rock, jazz, folk, and pop. Harley has taught as a guest clinician at the Thousand Islands Jazz Festival, been an adjudicator at Funfest and Summerfest music competitions, and been an examiner for the Ontario Teachers Guild. 
 
     As a performer, Harley is a mainstay in Toronto’s diverse music scene. He has enjoyed many successful collaborations including; being a member/composer for innovative Toronto ensembles; Hobson’s Choice, God’s Gift To Yoda, Stoptime, and The Harley Card Quintet.  
     Harley is a four time recipient of The Ontario Arts Council’s Popular Music Grant for recording, and in 2009, he was a recipient of the Toronto Arts Council’s Music Creators and Composers Grant. In 2008 Harley performed in Montreux, Switzerland, as a semi-finalist in the 5th annual Gibson, Montreux Jazz festival guitar competition.
